frida brings us

We’re not hoteliers, or at least not typical ones. We could have been globetrotters or diplomats, maybe even circus performers. But we love being hosts. The space Frida am Wald provides for adventure and relaxation, for leisure and transformation is not just for our guests. We thrive on it, too.
Frida keeps us grounded. She also keeps us tied to this small, beautiful village deep in the heart of Tyrol’s mountains and woods. Our own love of travel spurred us to invite the world into our home – we bring home ideas and impressions collected from all the corners of the globe and we welcome illustrious guests from all countries. The ideas and experiences we have gained are reflected in Frida’s design and manifest themselves in her continual transformation.
When the hotel is closed in autumn and spring, we break free and set out for parts distant and unknown. Sometimes we drift with the current, sometimes we follow a hunch. We travel, letting ourselves be wooed, won over, charmed and enchanted. We observe, we ask, we reinvent ourselves. When we come back with our hearts filled up to overflowing, we bring many things back with us – both material and immaterial. Landscapes, stories, faces, conversations, ideas, colours and recipes. When we come home, Frida becomes a playground for us. We reinvent parts of her, incorporating the new things we’ve found. The house reflects our journeys and metamorphoses. Frida’s design doesn’t follow a set plan – it follows the yearnings of the heart and our desire to make Frida a place for multitudes, for everything, for worlds and stars and dreams.
For us, hospitality means providing space for escape and relaxation, providing a room for leisure and change. We’re not hoteliers, not really. We can’t always be conventional, undemanding and unchanging – and we don’t want to be. We don’t expect this of our guests either. We’re curious about our guests, about the stories and wisdom they have acquired over the courses of their lives. We want to hear our guests’ fresh perspectives on Frida and her surroundings. We welcome our guests with simple, high-quality service that is never intrusive. Most of all, we love seeing how vacation and relaxation change Frida’s visitors and how quickly the change can take effect!
